Midjourney is an artificial intelligence that can generate images based on a huge amount of image data that it studied. It knows the visual styles of different artists and painters and can apply them to its creations. This, however, raises questions about copyright and future legislation that should regulate this area.
We can use styles in different ways. We can have an image generated, for example, in the style of a famous painter, caricaturist or cartoonist, without much effort. Or we can be more creative and use styles only as a final seasoning that adds some spice to our image.
I decided to create an interesting print for a T-shirt with a movie theme, so I asked Midjourney to generate various fantastic movie cameras or projectors for me. When I was satisfied with their appearance, I started to improve them using styles. This resulted in, for example, a movie camera in the style of Quentin Tarantino, a camera in the style of the movie Tenet, a camera in the style of Paolo Sorrentino and others.
Now I have a large database of various crazy images of cameras that will end up on a T-shirt. I just have to choose how to arrange them on it. Maybe I’ll just leave them side by side and have fun watching passers-by guess who their inspiration is.
